Painted from Edinburgh’s Calton Hill, the famous hill in the city centre, the view looks south over the Balmoral Hotel, the Scott monument and Edinburgh Castle.
Ross is an established artist living in Edinburgh. He has been painting since he moved here from Dumfries in 1984, and exhibits regularly in joint exhibitions, often in aid of charities. He is primarily a watercolourist, though likes to introduce other water-based media into his work.
